Hotel was in excellent location, just at the end of the shops on princess street. Hotel appearance was lovely and all staff without exception were freindly and helpful at all times. Pool and sauna were small but great for relaxing at the end of the day. Room small ish but big comfy bed, huge tv and lovely bathroom, all very clean, and everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Only dissapointment was that the full room service menu had been taken away over the festive period, however again the staff were very helpful in trying to offer something we would like and provide it to our room. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

The hotel is in a good location & a decent modern city centre hotel.
The restaurant/kitchen service was very poor. I am easy going & rarely complain. However, an afternoon tea that was booked 4 weeks in advance took 40 minutes for anything - sandwiches, drinks, coffee to arrive at the table. We were the only guests for afternoon tea.
Breakfast almost became lunch. From being seated, we waited 1 hour to receive anything at the table - tea/coffee, toast or the ordered hot food. There were many others who suffered the same & complained. Fortunately a cold buffet kept us going, but this was not intended.
The waiting staff on both occasions did not seem concerned that customers were waiting or that orders were mixed up. If we had a schedule to meet we would have left the hotel without eating. No recommendation here.
We had two requirements for the reception desk. The first was to arrange a taxi at a specific time & this was handled precisely as requested. The second was to leave our bags for 2 hours after checkout. Although there is a receipted tagging system, we had to describe the bags on collection. It took three attempts to find the correct bags by the staff. This was more amusing than frustrating!
Top Tip
Book on a room only basis & eat out. With this location there are numerous restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel just off Princes Street, 2 mins walk from Harvey Nic's and Jenners - and as this was a shopping trip, that's just about perfect! Hotel staff very efficient and friendly. Room spotless, bed huge, bathroom bright and clean. Pool and sauna very relaxing. Breakfast first-rate. There is nothing to not like about the Waterloo Place. It ticks all the boxes.

Wedgwood restaurant on Front Street (Royal Mile) was absolutely faultless. Staff were excellent and very knowledgeable on menu in general and wines in particular. Highly recommended.
