Our Review

A late-Victorian property in the heart of Edinburgh, the Carlton Hotel sits on North Bridge, opposite Waverley Station and a stone’s throw from Princes Street. Given the building’s historic status, the rooms do tend to vary in size and layout, but they’re all sumptuously decorated. You can avail yourself of a wide range of facilities including a bar, a brasserie and a leisure club with pool.

     they do some great cocktails in the bar...              hotel was looking a little tired, especially the leisure facilities. ...             Dining area needs re-decoration ...             The swimming pool was very small and very crowded at busy times...              we found it expensive for parking ...             the hotel car parking its just a short distance away ...             The Reception area was very plush ...             Hotel restaurant service and food excellent...             Poor quality food....             Bar not up to standard...             car parking was considerably extra - without any warning...             Brasserie menu was too limited...             Meal in the restaurant was a mistake - mediocre and overpriced...             Lounge area somewhat contemporary and lacks atmosphere...             the bar meals were excellent and good value for money...             hotel facilities first class wish we had stayed more than 1 night...
