One of the best hotels in Edinburgh! Location and service are of high rate! Carlton Hotel is located in the centre of the city, is's in two steps of Mile Road and fashion mall. The bus station is near, and 10 min to airport.

Must visit this fantastic historical city on the hills near the sea

I would, but I would suggest asking for a room away from the road. It is noisy (albeit we were staying on a Saturday night) and the windows are not double glazed.
The pool is small an the male shower room was not the nicest, but these are minor matters.

The Kitchin is a great restaurant, which was the purpose for going. The friends that we were with also recommended the National Museum/Gallery, but time ran out.
Also there is a decent tapas bar for lunch called Andaluz.

Whilst the staff on the main desk were very helpful..unfortunately for me during the stay i was ill and very sick...we asked for room service but trying to get the staff to understand what toast was was very frustrating and when it was brough to the room it had barely seen the grill so i said to the girl this is not toast and she argued it was...it was obvious she was eastern european and was not understanding me and she just kept saying that it was toast i then got angry and said i have lived here all my life and never had toast like this...this appeared to happen when speaking to a lot of the staff and i have to mention the oil used to cook breakfast was disgusting and the eggs were swimming in it...a 4 star hotel it may be but i feel you need to up the stakes to match this with the staff..the tea and coffee facilites were great but again the cups were perfumed dont know what they had washed them with....

This Hotel is not up to most 4 star Hotels standards that I have stayed at before, but still a nice Hotel, in a good but busy location.
Top Tip
Visit The Whiski Rooms, excellent food and great Whiskey flights. Especially their new restaurant closer to the castle.
