I have but praise for the Royal British Hotel.It was all I want from a hotel, Central,Comfortable,and reasonably priced.I am returning there in August.The only fault I have is that dining room closed at 9pm

Staff were very pleasant amd helpful - it was great to be able to leave our luggage after checkout and collect it later.

Top Tip
National Museum of Scotland is great - lots for children too

the hotel was covered with scaffolding,and some areas like lobby carpet etc were very tired looking

I have complained to the hotel as the booking was a gift for my parents who are pensioners and were attending the theatre. The noise level coming from outside was unacceptable. They had 3hrs sleep the whole stay, they arrived to a cold room, no heating had been put on for them.

very dissapppointing hotel although reasonably clean it is very outdated. furniture very shabby and bathroom freezing and grotty! Ceiling was made up of polystyrene tiles that were grey/black in coloour some were damaged and therefore let in a draft. Noise outside the hotel was awful but i suppose only to be expected in a busy central location. At £120 per room not exactly abudget hotel either you really do JUST pay for the location! Will never book this hotel again!
