An historic property, accessed via a secluded cobbled courtyard, the Tailors Hall Hotel is situated in the lively Cowgate area of Ednburgh, a few minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile. Equipped with zip-link beds, the modern rooms are can be easily adapted into doubles, twins or triples. The sports bar next door is always fun and vibrant. This hotel caters for primarily young clientele, so it should be avoided by those looking for a peaceful armosphere!
Built in 1621 for the Guild of Tailors, this building was completely renovated and transformed into a hotel in 1998. It is located in the Cowgate, in the heart of old Edinburgh, a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The hotel entrance is accessible through the cobbled courtyard, which in summer months is also a busy outdoor bar area.
The rooms are getting a little tired but still offer a comfortable stay. The main business at this hotel during the weekend is stag/hen parties and groups of young people so expect some lively noise until late! During the week, although still accepting groups of young people, it is a little quieter. The hotel has a large number of rooms which can take an extra bed to make triples and thanks to the adaptable and modern range of zip-link beds, guests need not worry about whether their room has separated beds or a double - they can have either!
The hotel has no formal restaurant, but an extensive bar menu is available in the Three Sisters sports bar which adjoins the hotel and also has a large courtyard with outside bar and large screen projector television.
Despite the party atmosphere in this hotel, guests are still assured of good service from a friendly management team.
