Traveller from Bristol stayed in April,2009

We stayed for one night and it suited our needs perfectly. The room was clean and tidy, although we were on the top floor and there are no lifts (it's an old building) so travellers may wish to request a lower floor if they require less stairs. The staff were fantastic and even carried my ridiculously heavy bag up to the room. Breakfast was lovely and timed perfectly to soak up the excesses of the previous evening's entertainment! This hotel is right in the centre of the city so the location is great for during the day but it is also noisy at night so if you're a light sleeper, be prepared to be disturbed. However, overall it's a lovely hotel with very friendly staff and a bustling bar, right in the heart of one of the best cities in the world!

Top Tip:
There's an outstanding cocktail bar just down the Royal Mile, called Monteiths- you should try the Ciao Bru- a cocktail fashioned from the Scots' national drink, Irn Bru!
